Tips for healthy eating to avoid the challenges of the Christmas Season
It's that time of year again, Christmas is almost here. An invitation to parties, dinners, and family gatherings - food is everywhere. It's often hard to resist the temptation to over indulge. It’s so easy to forget about healthy eating.
Then January comes around, the guests have all gone home, decorations put away, wrapping paper sent for recycling, the novelty worn off all those new gadgets and clothes. Christmas fading into the collection of warm memories of Christmas past, family gatherings, happy times.
For many of us, the only real reminder of the over indulgence is when we get on the scale, look in the mirror or try to fit into clothes that were comfortable back in November. Perhaps we have had two weeks off work, now those office or work clothes are a bit tight.
It doesn't have to be that way. We can compensate for too much rich food and drink, sugary snacks and little exercise over the holiday season by making a conscious decision to start healthy eating habits right now.
The best way to do that is to start having at least one healthy, low fat, low calorie, low sugar and high fiber meal every day until Christmas Day and beyond.

Our regular hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays. Over the Christmas season we will be open until 2:00 pm on Friday December 22nd and closed through to Monday January 2. We reopen 7:00 am Tuesday January 2nd.
