We're Not Lucky: A slightly quippy take on living a holistic life.

The one thing we need you to know above all else about a life of wellness.

We’re not lucky.

In fact, that is one of the things that really gets under our skin when we hear it. . .

“Oh gosh, you are so lucky to have good genes!”

“I’m sure you never have to worry about (fill in the blank with any modern health malady).”

“Well, that’s easy for you to say! You (fill in the blank with any seemingly underserved positive attribute)!”

It is so common for people to EXCUSE their own poor health, excess weight, or low mood by pointing to us and thinking that we are just lucky because we are healthy and happy.


Are we healthy, happy, and thin? YES.

But, is it because of luck? NO.

What has us healthy, happy and thin is the culmination of years of decisions which lead to actions on a CONSISTENT basis. This is the holistic lifestyle.

We each grew up in households that ate crap, were for the most part sedentary, and the emotional climate? Well. . . you can make up whatever you like here. . . Just know it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

Katie started her journey to health at 18- overweight, a face full of acne, sad, moody, and ashamed. Rob began his at 20, passionate about learning to help others heal and committed to walking the walk himself as well. Our wellness is something we work at EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Diet of Healthy Whole Foods

We eat a diet comprised of plants, protein, and healthy fats. We minimize sugar, carbohydrates, processed foods, fast foods, and just general junk.

We prioritize sleep and get more sleep, perhaps, than the average American.

We exercise 5-6 days a week.

We cry, yell and talk about feelings. All the feelings.

We hug, snuggle, laugh, smile and touch.

We use essential oils and supplements every single day.

We drink water like it is going out of style.

We spend as much time as possible outside.

We say no to things that don’t bring us absolute joy.

We work hard and take risks.

We read books and listen to podcasts to edify our character.

We are careful who we surround ourselves with.

If we didn’t do these things, we would without a doubt be depressed, in pain, moody, and chubby. And who knows, maybe worse. We know because we have BEEN THERE BEFORE.

We’re not sharing this to brag, but we’re sharing this because we NEED you to know that wellness is a lifestyle. It is a way of being that is as constant as breathing. We’ve heard some say that if you are not growing, you are dying. We are here to grow. We are here to thrive. We are here to live our MOST VIBRANT lives. . . and we are here to help others do the same.

It’s not luck. It’s calculated, purposeful behavior on repeat. And the good news is that we can teach EVERYTHING to you.

We’re not special. Wellness is a lifestyle and it is available for everyone. It just requires a decision, a plan, and a coach or two to help you get there.
