With A Little Help From My Friends
I would like to introduce you to a few of the furkids at Rescue Dogs Match
Introducing Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea is just that - for a dog that has been through so much she holds no grudges. She greets everyone with a wiggly bum and kisses. Sweet Pea is a puppy mill survivor, we estimate her age to be 8. We are not sure how she even survived due to being albino her immune system is weaker than average. She was caught by a dog catcher in a county west of Cambridge. When we vetted her she was 9lbs, after we shaved all the matts of she was 7 lbs. After running tests we were told she has 75 percent kidney failure.
Sweet Pea will be in long term foster to make sure she gets the medical attention needed. She is a happy feisty little girl.
Meet Boo he has been at the vet clinic since Oct 2016. It has taken months to see any improvement. He was found as a stray and has FIV . He has more good days than bad now and we are looking for a foster home for him. Boo loves attention and will be great company. No other cats can be in the home as FIV can be spread to other cats.
Meet Kaiogi - A 12 yr old min pin. After being surrendered by his family he waited and waited to get adopted but he never did. Now blind and diabetic he will stay in long term foster with his foster brother Bruiser . Thanks to his foster Mom for keeping him safe, happy and loved.
Meet Naomi - a 9 month old collie cross that was surrendered to a kill shelter. Naomi was on the euth list and we pulled her just in time but she was sick. Untreated in the shelter her pneumonia almost killed her. Without treatment she would have died within 12 hours. She is recovering at the OVC in Guelph. There is a YouCaring page up for Naomi's medical expenses. To obtain a tax receipt, you can donate to us through Homeless Pets. In the personal message, please identify RESCUE DOGS MATCH as the rescue the funds should be directed to. Upon donating, it will say you have chosen to donate to the following charity – Helping Homeless Pets but the donation will come to Rescue Dogs Match.
Meet Mr. Magoo
Little Mr. Magoo was born blind and the runt of the litter. He came into our Rescue Program last June to find a forever home
Mr. Magoo does surprisingly well with his blindness and we had high hopes of placing him in a loving forever home. He has been with the same foster family since June 16, and one night Mr. Magoo had a seizure and stopped breathing. There were no signs of life in his little body. His foster mom gently pressed his chest and found a faint heartbeat, she pressed harder and little Mr. Magoo gasped. It was discovered that he had a blood clot in his lung. Magoo does relapse.
The decision has been made to keep little Mr. Magoo with his foster family in permanent care so his medical issues can be taken care we are also asking for donations for Magoo as he has many tests to go through.
Mr. Magoo is so adorable and full of life we want to give him every chance we can. He will be so grateful for any donations toward his cause.
Thank you for reading their stories.
