The Multi Commodity Exchange as the name suggests is the exchange for different commodities like Gold, Silver, Copper, Zinc, Crude Oil, Cotton etc. in India. These terms becomes very easy if one is aware of charts like mcx copper chart.

MCX Timings

The MCX operates in two sessions for a day:

• Morning session 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

• Evening session 5:00 pm – 11:30 pm /11.55 pm

11.30 pm (Start of US Day Light Savings)/ 11:55 pm (End of US Day Light Savings)

5:00 pm - 9:00 pm for Internationally referenceable agricultural commodities

• Weekends OFF for both sessions.

Morning and Evening session are open for Internationally referenceable non-agri commodities.

Morning session only for all agricultural commodities other than internationally linked agricultural commodities.

Morning and Evening session (ends at 9:00 pm) for Internationally referenceable agricultural commodities.

Exchange Support Timings

The MCX also has separate timings for Support in terms of technical support to the subscriber with respect to information disseminated to Vendors. The Exchange Support timings are

Monday to Friday 9.30 am (IST) to 6.30 pm (IST) on all business days. Closed on all MCX declared holidays and weekends.

Exchange Special Session Timings

The MCX session timings given in the beginning are for normal sessions. MCX also has Special Session Timings –

Monday to Friday: 8:45 am to 8:59 am.

The Special Session is the order cancellation session, held to cancel the pending orders before the opening of market.
