5 Steps To Thriving On Adversity

5 Steps To Thriving On Adversity

Though the book is focused on becoming more resilient through hard times, Wright weaves his five steps for thriving on adversity around personal stories.

When I was a boy, my mother always warned me that “you'll end up in the papers someday”.

Her concern is now a reality, but not in the way she worried about.

If she is looking down from that special place that God sends good, caring, mothers to, I think she would approve.

Last week, Megan Stacey published an article about my book in the Sentinel Review.

Amongst other positive comments, she said:

“It started out as a memoir, but when editors told him it was much too long, he changed directions and landed on the self-help genre.

Though the book is focused on becoming more resilient and persevering through hard times, Wright weaves his five steps for thriving on adversity around personal stories from life on another continent.

The main message is my sort of slogan that I have on my business card. ‘It’s not what happens in life, it’s what you do about it that counts.’ I really believe that, Wright said.

The tales in his book definitely echo that motto.”

Here's what readers are saying about it:

Just a quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed your book. It is a page-turner. You have a very unique ability with your words to draw pictures, and for that I am thrilled. This is because I was able to visualize the situations in my minds-eye what was going on. While I’ve known a bit about your life in the years we’ve known each other, this book gave me a bigger more encompassing perspective. – T.G.

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that I’ve been reading your book. I wished I could sit for an entire afternoon and just read it. However, that’s how I started my morning today. Did you see the post I placed on Facebook about it?

I’m thoroughly riveted by your account of events. As I mention in my FB post, this is what movies are made from. So much has happened to you that most people probably wouldn’t believe that that much can happen to one family in their lifetime. Absolutely unbelievable. K. B.

Thanks for your book … really good .. all the exercises made me pause and think! – O. W.

I’ve just finished your book!

What an insightful view on life events. The book is definitely a revealing look into, as the title says, “adversity” and the personal challenges you have faced — and overcome.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and it definitely creates some thought provoking opportunities for introspection.

Well done. Thanks for writing it! – R. G.
