The Ultimate Sound Experience: Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos brings the ultimate sound experience to your home theater, creating powerful, moving audio.
We all enjoy the movie experience, and a big part of that is the sound experience! There's nothing better than the helicopter flying behind us or bullets whizzing by making you duck in your seat! All those effects can be recreated in the house with the latest technology Dolby Atmos.
The problem with traditional surround systems (5.1 or 7.1 systems) are that the sound comes from only two plains, one at the front of the room and the other at the back. Imagine creating another height channel of sound. That is exactly what the surround format Dolby Atmos does.
By adding in 4 more speakers we can create a height channel for both the front and rear which now fills the room with even more sound.
Since these are height speakers they need to be placed above the listener and the easiest way to achieve this is to add in-ceiling speakers. Not only do they create the "sound illusion" they are less obtrusive then conventional speakers, as they are placed in the ceiling in front of the listener and another pair behind them.
Having said that, there are a number of options to get Dolby Atmos sound from whatever system you currently have.
With Dolby Atmos movies, engineers have recorded a dedicated height channel that new Dolby Atmos receivers can decode and direct the information to those ceiling speakers. So now when a rain drop falls, we hear it falling from the sky down to the ground, and the tree leaves can be shaking behind us placing you, the listener, right in the scene. Now we have a real sound experience by being surrounded by music and effects. Even sports are getting on board with Dolby Atmos. For the first time, a soccer game was broadcasted in Dolby Atmos, and this is just the beginning.
Sound moves around you in three-dimensional space, so you feel like you're inside the action. Experience how Dolby Atmos transports you from the ordinary into the extraordinary. At Natural Sound we have a dedicated Dolby Atmos home theatre room, so you can hear the difference for yourself.
