10 Ways to Get Your Nutrition Back on Track

The holidays are over and it's time to get your nutrition back on track. Find out simple daily steps you can do to get back on track after the holidays!
10 Ways to Get Your Nutrition Back on Track

1. Recommit to good nutrition TODAY! Not tomorrow, or Monday. Start right now and with your next bite and drink. Small steps add up to big results.
2. Plan Your Meals. Take 5 minutes to jot down your meals for the next week. Having a plan makes it easier to eat healthy than just winging it. Any goal needs an action plan.
3. Reopen or start that food journal and track what you eat. You may be surprised by some eating habits when you see it written down. This can also help you identify where you can make some changes to eat better.

4. EAT! Don’t try to make up for overeating over the holidays by not eating. Focus on making sure each snack, meal and drink is nourishing for your body.

5. Remind yourself that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.
6. Drink water like it’s your job! Bonus points by adding lemon.
7. Vegetables are your friend. Fill up on them. Add more to casseroles and soups. Add them for breakfast. Snack on them. Always have a side salad with meals.

8. Ditch the sugar and refined carbs immediately. Choose wholesome complex carbohydrates such as sweet potatoes, legumes, brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal etc...
9. Stop making excuses and make time for yourself: to eat cleaner and exercise moderately and take care of your health.
10. Repeat tomorrow….. And every day after that!!!
