We all know that one of the most important ranking factors for Google is the Title Tag. This needs to be informative for the user and for Google to understand what is the content of this page about. Also, when Google displays your title on, the search engine will only show up to 70 characters, so we need to adjust this to make sure our title displays correctly.
In the example below, the Title Tag that I specified for this page was “Search Ranking Factors – Digital Mind London“. We can see how it is correctly displayed on the search engine.
Now the question is: Is it possible that Google ignores your Title Tag, and it sets up its own Title Tag? visit too https://danielalarcon.com/
The guys at Dejan SEO decided to put this to the test and actually discovered that Google sometimes has a strong personality and may ignore our Title Tags if it thinks there is something else more suitable for the user.
They discovered that searching for the brand name of a company called “Sennza'' the title that showed on Google rankings was the name of the company in brackets: (Sennza)Checking the HTML of their site they found that the page had an specific Title Tag which was obviously not the one displayed above. They also found a piece of content within their site where Sennza was displayed in brackets. Take Away – SEO is about Signals
This is just another example that shows us how SEO is just about signals. We will never be able to control what Google displays results on the search engine. All we can do is help them to do this more effectively and if we do it right it will take our help which will also benefit our rankings.
