Easy Shortbread Cookie recipe

Shortbread Cookies, & why they're so great!
Shortbread cookies are soft cookies that just melt in your mouth. with three simple ingredients and a total preparation time of only 25 minutes it is extremely hard to find any cookie easier to make than shortbread.
1 1/2 cups salted butter, softened (room temperature)
1 1/4 cups confectioners sugar (icing sugar or powdered sugar)
3 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
Blend butter until smooth in a medium bowl using an electric mixer set at medium speed. Slowly add in the icing sugar to the butter. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spoon and combine thoroughly. Add in the flour and mix at low speed until well blended with your electric mixer or by hand.
Place the shortbread cookie dough into an ungreased cookie sheet. You can roll out the dough so that it's about ¼ of an inch in thickness and cut them to your desired shape.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes (slightly golden in colour). Remove from oven and design the cookies however you like and place cookie sheet on wire rack to cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and eat your delicious shortbread cookies
