Easy Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

Why Oatmeal Cookies?
Oatmeal cookies are great because they can be done many ways. You can add chocolate chips, raisins, almonds and pretty much anything else you can think of.
2 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
2 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups add ins (chocolate chips/raisons)
To start preheat the oven to 350F.
In the bowl fair sized bowl, beat together the brown sugar and butter until fluffy. Next beat in the vanilla. One at a time add an egg making sure you're scraping the sides as you go.
Mix together the flour, salt and baking soda in a medium sized bowl. Add the dry ingredients into the liquid ingredients in groups of thirds. Add in the oats until well mixed.
Use your preferred size cookie scoop to drop portions of dough onto baking sheets, space the oatmeal cookies so that they are a couple inches apart. Bake until the tops are golden/dark and chewy, averaging to about 12 to 13 minutes.
Let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheets and once at your preferred temperature serve the oatmeal cookies.
Depending on what you plan on adding into the oatmeal cookies the number of calories vary. with just the base the oatmeal cookies are around 110 calories.
