It is important to take care of your body. There are many ways to improve your health, and there are also many ways to damage it.

If you don't have your health you don't have anything. This is what my grandfather told me years and years ago. You can take that statement to the bank because if you don't have your health then you really do have nothing. Being physically healthy means that your body is strong. Having strength is important as you age. If your muscles are weaker as you age then you aren't able to move as well. In addition, being physically healthy means your bones are stronger, and you are able to keep your posture better. Since your muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones are stronger because you have been active, that means you are less prone to injury. Being physically healthy means that you can move in ways that you normally would not be able to move. And, This is a huge benefit especially when you get older. again, That means you are more independent than you normally would be. You do not need help in the way that others have not exercised throughout their life do.

You save money

Being physically healthy also means that you save money. If you are not physically active, then that can lead to chronic diseases. Chronic diseases cause 70% of deaths in the United States, and treating those chronic diseases accounts for almost 90% of us healthcare costs. Those types of chronic diseases include heart disease and diabetes, and those diseases can be caused through poor diet and lack of exercise. Regular exercise is a way for you to save money on medications.You reduce your risk for health issues and the complications that can come from those health issues. And, If you have a chronic disease like diabetes or heart disease then you are constantly on medications. Those medications cost and add up over time and you have less money to spend and what you truly want to spend money on.
