Focus all your energy on what needs to be done right away and put the rest aside until you are done with the immediate task at hand. Time management can help you a lot when it comes to reducing your stress level in the workplace.

Write It Down

Write down what is stressing you out. Seeing it on paper will help you to get rid of the major things that are stressing you out. Also seeing what stresses you out will help get it out of your head and let you focus better on the task at hand. Worrying will greatly reduce your current focus on the project at hand. You will be too worried about what is stressing you out that you can not work on what needs to be done in the first place.

Take Breaks

Being that you work in the tech world you are normally staring at a screen of some sort all day long. So every so often you need to disconnect and get away from all the screens and take a break. Let your eyes and brain rest for a little bit. Things you can do to get away from all types of electronic screens are taking a walk, make a cup of coffee, go out to eat, or even simply go talk to another co-worker. It is very important to take a break every now and then and get away from all the screens.

In the workplace ask your boss to create a room that has a ping pong table, couches, reclining chairs, snacks and drinks with magazines and books so that when you need to unwind for a little bit you can go to the break room and take a breather from all the screen time you are doing. This will allow your eyes and brain to take a break and employee morale will go up.

The Bottom Line

No matter what type of screen work you are doing it is always important to take a break and rest your eyes, brain and let your worries out. Don't let work overcome you through the stress you feel, reduce the stress and simply breathe.
