6 Question Mental Health Check

When was the last time you had your mental health check-up? Here is a quick questionnaire to check your mental health.

“I felt so lost, like I was drowning. I couldn’t catch my breath and started thinking I was going crazy. I made myself busier and busier hoping no one would notice. I thought of myself as a failure, like I should be doing more, fixing myself. But it just got worse. Finally, I sought therapy with Trish and things changed. I was able to stop feeling overwhelmed and felt I was taking back control of my life.” - Tracy age 36

Spotting a person who has mental health issues is not always easy. If you look at the people around you, it will give you a good idea at the type of people who struggle with mental health issues. They are average people who realise that they needed help to overcome an obstacle to reach their goals. They probably have been so good at hiding any issues that they are the ones that you admire for having it all together.

Most of us cannot tell when someone needs help, therefore, it is on each of us to take a moment to take a mental health check to determine how we are doing.

Quick questions to ask yourself:

1. Am I having difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep and waking up on time?

2. Have I experienced or witnessed a traumatic event?

3. Have I been unable to feel happiness, contentment, joy, or love, or had trouble connecting with people?

4. Over the last two weeks have I felt worthless, hopeless or guilty?

5. Have I stopped enjoying activities, friends or family?

6. Have I started to tackle multiple goals/activities at once (more than I usually would) or jumped from one interest to another in an attempt to do it all?

If you have answered yes to two or more of these questions, it is time to have a professional mental health check-up so book your appointment today with your psychotherapist. If you do not have one, then it would be an honour to work with you. You can book your appointment today by calling 226-476-3203 or by booking online.

We look forward to meeting you.
