The First Carpool Karaoke for Comic Relief

The First Carpool Karaoke for Comic Relief

James Corden and George Michael ride around and sing together to raise awareness for the first of many good causes with Carpool Karaoke.

The Original Carpool Karaoke

Before there was even Adele in a car, the start of Carpool Karaoke was instigated through a conversation, apparently in the middle of the night by George Michael and James Corden.  A little jab here and there and the concept of a bit to raise awareness for Comic Relief, and a "star" was born.  Carpool Karaoke has had over 100,000,000 views since inception and it started from one conversation. Here is the story.

The actual skit stemmed from a character know as Smithy created by James Corden. This skit was the who's who in the UK including Paul McCartney and Kiera Knightly. Love it when Smithy calls George Michael a "Joke"

It's actually funny how the two go on and on and discuss and make fun of George Michael. They full swing into song "Baby, I'm your man"

The banter from the community showed some really strong support for the Carpool and of course all future Karaokes will have the original in spirit.

Sadly, George Michael passed away at the end of 2016.
