Journeys into Hackensack
Here is something from the offbeat:
NewJersey.com, Patch and others are reporting the local opening on First Street of a Record-Size Perfume Bottle Collection.
A world-record-holding collection of fragrance bottles belongs to Sudhir Gupta and, according to the articles has been 30 years in the making. It is now open to the public by appointment.
It is called Facticerie, an exhibition showcasing Gupta's collection of perfume bottles, known as factices.
Facticerie features more than 3,000 factices,”from venerable fragrance houses such as Guerlain, Caron, Dior, Chanel and Estée Lauder”.
Gupta's exhibit commemorates his June 8 induction into the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest factice collection. His collection is displayed to the public for the first time in its entirety in Hackensack, says a news release.
The story behind Gupta is an interesting one as well, as can be seen in this article: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/perfume-factice-collector-went-canal-204316447.html
