I believe that you are a writer at heart.
What do you feel in your body when you read this statement?
Do you feel softness and openness, or do you feel tightness? Does your mind say: I have known this all along! Or does it say: Yeah wright… just read one of my paragraphs and then talk to me.
I still believe that you are a writer at heart.
I wholeheartedly believe that we all are extraordinary creators. We have stories, we have feelings imprinted in our bodies, we have captured the energy of the sunrise and the evening mist, and we are the warriors of our lives.
Although writing is done through words, I believe it is sourced from deeper layers of our being. That’s why writing is so healing because we allow ourselves to connect to our inner fire, to the stored memories that our minds forgot but our bodies still remember, to our deepest desires, to our pains, and to our mission and purpose in life.
Yes, we heal when we write because we allow ourselves to discover the deeper meaning of who we are.
Writing helps us let go and search for our truth.
I encourage you to write without censoring, criticizing, and any expectations. I encourage you to write about the most ordinary things in your life as if they were extraordinary. You can start writing by simply noticing what you see and hear around you, and what you feel in your body.
Being multilingual, and learning English only in my late 20s, I will never forget one of my English professor’s comments on my writing: “Edita, your word order is Czech. Or is it German? It’s definitely not English!” But I kept writing because I came to realize that my truth is deeper than any language. It’s pre-verbal and universal.
As I sit on my brown coach letting my fingers dance on the keyboard of my laptop, my back is sinking into my fluffy, dense cushion. I feel the warmth of my dog’s body resting against my legs. She loves to cuddle by my side. I imagine she is co-creating with me.
I am inviting you to co-create your life through writing.
Let your writing help you become who you are meant to be.
In fact, I am even thinking of creating a local mini writing group.
We could meet and write together in cafes, parks, gardens, on a beach…laugh, share, and heal; and find our truth.
Wanna join or create your own local writing group?
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wildflower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.
