Kaitlin Turck is currently serving as the Global Digital Engagement Advisor in the Bureau Consular Affairs as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State. Kaitlin leads the Department of State’s consular social media messaging in crisis situations, in addition to co-managing the Consular Affairs @TravelGov on Twitter and Facebook. In Kaitlin messages in large crises routinely reach millions of social media users. She has developted policy documents and standard operating procedures for all U.S. Embassies on how to effectively use social media in an imminent or ongoing crisis situation.
