Self-care is for everyone, even busy people.
When was the last time you took a moment just for yourself? If you had to think about this question, it’s been too long.

What is Self-Care?
Self-care is not just a buzz word we hear on TV and read about in magazines – it is a necessary part of your mental and physical health. If you find yourself depleted, exhausted, irritable, losing focus, and unable to keep up with your daily tasks, you are not going to be able to take care of your loved ones with the energy they deserve.
For those who love to give, taking care of yourself first is often seen as selfish; however, engaging in self-care is an integral part of your well-being.
Signs YOU Need Self-Care:
• Do you always take care of others first?
• Do you have trouble saying no at all costs?
• Do you find yourself locked in the bathroom for five minutes or quiet time?
• Do you sit in the driveway for ten minutes before going into the house?
• Do you often feel like you’ve hit the wall of exhaustion?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, self-care is the solution to approaching your day full of energy and with purpose.
Start with FIFTEEN minutes of YOU time:
Small steps are the first steps. Wake up fifteen minutes earlier in the morning, when the house is still asleep, and take those fifteen minutes to:
• Enjoy a tea by the window by yourself
• Read an article that will inspire your day
• Take a brisk walk around the block
• Sip a coffee in uninterrupted silence
• Meditate or visualize your happy place.
Once you allow yourself the time to breathe and look after your well-being, you will realize that you’re better equipped to help others, and yourself. You will be patient, well-rested, focused, and ready to take on the world. Start small and keep building once you find the activity that gives you energy and brings you joy.
Finding a group that will support you in your self-care journey is paramount. Having support will increase your likelihood of sticking to it. Find a non-judgemental group that allows you to be yourself and welcomes you in whatever state you choose to show up. The most important thing is that you show up for yourself as much as for those you love.
