In South Florida in 2006, Catherine and her friends went through the worst hurricane seasons two years in a row. After evacuating for smaller storms repeatedly, Catherine and her friends decided not to evacuate from their apartment. This resulted in directly experiencing a category 4 storm with absolutely no precautions being taken whatsoever.
Denise knows about beating Life’s Challenges. Many of us go through our busy lives and take so many things for granted. In 1987, Mary-Jo's life changed in a split second. She had two choices; to be angry and complain about it or to accept it, move on and live her life the way she wanted. Her eyes were opened to a whole new world, a world where she had to learn how to adapt - the hard way.
All her life, Jen Abra has had the uncanny ability to make her dreams come true. At a young age, she imagined that she was a teacher, lining up her stuffed animals in neat little rows and recruiting her neighbourhood friends to be her students. When people would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up, she knew without a doubt it was to teach. At the age of 27, Jen found herself in the front of many classrooms, teaching Kindergarteners to tie their shoes and write their names. After 15 years of living this dream, she woke one day to realize that there was more to her life and that her role on this planet was about to morph and change.
Anthea Van Der Pluym
As a business woman who has lived through indescribable violence and burns, and emerged whole, healed and powerful on the other side. Anthea’s story is inspirational, and relevant to anyone overcoming challenges today. We all have value, we matter! When everything is stripped away it's your personal value that sparks your personal hope, and makes life worth living. Secondly, nothing is impossible... physically, mentally and emotionally we have what it takes to live a beautiful and meaningful life.
