A couple of months back we wrote of the pride around town at the prospect of favorite son Joe Maugeri being honored as a World War II veteran at Yankee Stadium.

Now in his mid-90's and a local institution, Joe is one of the last surviving veterans from "The Greatest Generation".

Those who attended share with us that the day was as memorable and moving as anyone could have hoped. Here is a video captured by one attendee and posted on Facebook.

Congratulations to Joe and to those who provided support by attending. They all did River Edge proud.
