Do you ever feel like life is moving too fast? Like no matter how hard you work, there is always more to do? It is easy to want to just hide underneath the covers and avoid it all. Avoid the demands, avoid the pressure, avoid the mess. And if you are like me when the weather is as nice as it has been, every cell in my being craves to be outside. I feel unsettled, agitated when I’m stuck indoors. Have you ever felt like your weekend is so full, you are so tired before it has even begun? Before we know it, Monday morning comes like a slap in the face and the to do list grows even longer. As much as their complacent attitude bugs me sometimes, I also think, wouldn’t it be nice to be like the kids; to ignore the mess and stay totally focused in the now and on what is fun? Okay maybe a happy medium is more ideal but truly as I have learned time and time again when I stop weighing myself down with worry and obligation, life becomes more joyful for everyone. As I trust that what needs to get done will, I can free myself up for pleasure, for passion and for play.
Tree of Trust
We all know the work is not going anywhere. But our children, they are growing up fast and our inspiration and dreams may not wait for us forever.
So will you join me this weekend in turning away from the “shoulds”, and wholeheartedly saying yes to yourself?
Yes to joy.
Yes to making the most of each sweet moment.
Yes to listening to your body’s desire to be free and energized.
Yes to trying new experiences and sharing beautiful memories with those you love.
Yes to going with the flow and letting love, not fear lead the way.
Yes to being flexible and honouring everyone’s needs.
Yes to humility, simplicity and tranquility.
When I say Yes to myself on the weekends I return to my personal and professional obligations with a full cup ready to give and serve in the best way possible. What about you? What do you notice when you dare to say Yes to your own beautiful heart?
