Season 2 of Dracula is a British television streaming on Netflix. It is a drama-horror television show developed by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss; the series is based on the novel of the same name written by Bram Stoker in 1897. The show was broadcast on Netflix and BBC One and consisted of only three episodes. The title character of the show is Charles Bang. Dracula premiered on 1 January 2020 and the show broadcast for three consecutive days.
The production of the series started in June 2017 with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The show was officially commissioned by BBC to air on Netflix and BBC One. According to the screenplay writers, Dracula is their version of the hero of his own story. Just like their series version of Sherlock they aimed to create a version of Dracula both faithless and faithful. Moffat also made a point about the sexuality of Dracula in the show that he has sex with Jonathan Harker. Although he said that it is not correct to say Dracula bisexual, he is bi-homicidal, and it is not the same thing. The casting of the show started in February 2019, and the team got some fine actors Dolly Wells, Joanna Scanlan, John Heffernan, Morfydd Clark, and Lujza Richter to join the cast. The rest of the team Sacha Dhawan, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Jonathan Aris, Youssef Kerkour, Catherine Schell, and Clive Russell joined the team later in April. The production work began on 4 March 2019, and shooting took place at Banska Stiavnica, Orava Castle, and Zuberec in Slovakia and Bray Studios in Berkshire. The shooting of Dracula finished on 1 August 2019.
The plot of the show revolves around a youthful counselor Jonathan Harker who is relegated to the bleak town of Eastern Europe. He was arrested and caught by the undead vampire Dracula and propelled a photograph of Harker’s guarantee, Mina Murray. After the release of Dracula, the first episode earned $3.60 million, the second made $2.85 million, and the third earned $2.70 million.
The show received an approval rating of 72% based on 50 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of 7.5/10 and got a 75 score out of 100 on Metacritic based on eight reviews.
Although the team has not revealed any information and the official date for the release of the show Dracula 2 yet, the fans can expect the show to release in 2021 or 2022.
