Introducing Journeys into Maywood
Journeys into Maywood
I grew up locally (River Edge), but iver the years have had varied connections to Maywood. Over time places familiar and thought to be fixtures of town have disappeared. Gone. Only the memories remain.
We launch this Journeys into Maywood, as we have done elsewhere such as River Edge, Oradell, Hackensack, Paramus & Closter locally and for places as distant as Canada and Florida to explore Matywood's "offbeat, off the beaten path, overlooked and forgotten".
However, we also do so with the above mentioned changes in mind. We hope to chronicle these places and aspects of the recent history of Maywood before they are forgotten.
Despite the changes, Mayowood remains vibrant - agreat place to live, work and visit. In some ways we are lucky to be living in Maywood's golden age.
It iondeed is a new chapter to a continuing story. May we celebrate this new phase as we also celebrate and honor what used to be special in town - appreciating the what was, even if unknown to many now, made this today's (and tomorrow's) Maywood possible.
