You Don’t Have to Wear Ugly Shoes if You Need Orthotics
Orthotics can be designed to fit a multitude of footwear options ranging from thick soled orthopedic shoe, to sandals, dress shoes, or sport specific footwear.
A common misconception surrounding the use of orthotics is that they can only be worn in not so great looking orthopedic footwear. This however is not the case. Orthotics can be specifically designed to fit a multitude of footwear options, ranging from the thick soled orthopedic shoe, to sandals, dress shoes, or even sport specific footwear.
Depending upon the size and shape of the shoe, and whether or not its insole is removable, will allow the manufacturing of the orthotic to be customized. Look at the following examples of different orthotic designs.
Some sandal brands like biotime and cambrian have removable inserts that can be replaced with a custom molded orthotic that fits into the sandals footbed. When buying sandals look for pairs that have removable inserts.
2. Dress Shoes:
Often times both men's and women's dress shoes have thin liners that are stitched into the sole of the shoe and are non-removable. In this case, orthotics are made a shorter length so as to not take up too much space in the shoes. These are otherwise known as ¾ length and are built with the same customized shell as a full length.
We understand that different jobs and different lifestyles require people to wear a large variety of shoe types, so we can specifically design each orthotic for not only your medical needs, but your lifestyle needs as well.
