What do segregated bike lanes look like in Waterloo . . ..

While out and about enjoying this great October weather I took some pictures of the different options . . .
Here we have the new segregated bike-lanes in Uptown Waterloo, with the bollards in place and the parked cars it definitely separates the bicycle traffic from vehicle traffic. Well executed for the most part.

Here we see the concrete curbs that have recently been put in place on University Ave., much better than the painted lines that were there before. Keeps the cars from encroaching on the bike lane - no more parking in the bike lane.

On Albert St. it was done a bit different, flower boxes are used to define the bike lanes, not a real deterrent to vehicles parking on the bike lane but still better than painted lines. With flowers in the Spring these are going to look great!

On Columbia St. we have another way to separate bike lane from the vehicle lane, collapsible bollards - very visible to the drivers but because of their collapsible nature not a lot of protection for the cyclist. But still better than painted lines.
