Fertility Anxiety. It’s ok to be not ok.

I am not sure if it’s the time of year, Covid lockdown and isolation, added with everything that goes with it, or even all the Covid birth announcements.

I have noticed in the last month, more than ever, fertility anxiety is so high. The one thing I do know, it is affecting a lot of women right now.

I want to share with you some of my top tips for coping with fertility anxiety.

Join a community.

Fertility can often feel so lonely. I know personally, my first few years, I told no one. I didn’t realize there was a big world out there with others struggling with infertility. I thought I was the only one. If you are looking for a fertility community, join our fertility support group on Facebook. These girls support and love each other like no other.

Walk! Just walk!

Get up and move your body and get the blood flowing to clear your head. If you are worried, that when you start walking, all you will be doing is thinking about your infertility, no problem. Walk and count the red brick houses, the white cars, the telephone poles, or the houses with black shingles. It doesn’t matter, just count something and move your body. If you need some accountability for your walking, we have a Fertility Challenges Club that you are welcome to join. We post each day the steps or length of walk we took, helping everyone get involved and motivated to get out and move. It’s a fun group on Facebook called The Fertility Booster Challenges Club, so don’t hesitate to join us.

Laugh! Yes, Laugh!

I often tell people during their two week wait, to watch episodes of Friends, or comedies, that they know will have them giggling. There is research on women that had a clown visit after IVF were over two times more likely for it to work. So really, what do you have to lose, laugh, and the easiest way is with Netflix!

Come out to our support group the first Wednesday of each month on zoom! You are free to have your camera on or off, as well as you can share as much or as little as you want. The ladies are so amazing and the conversations are so encouraging. You will laugh, learn, and meet some other fertility warriors.
