Life after divorce...How full is your cup?

Life after divorce...How full is your cup?

Love is full of so many expectations and disappointments and I truly believe this problem stems from not loving ourselves completely and wholeheartedly.

Feeling broken after relationship ends?

It's been a 9 year journey, I want to share my story with as many women/men as I can to help with the suffering and the feeling of lost hope and failure. Do you know how to fill your cup and feel alive again?

After years of blaming myself, feeling guilty and thinking that I failed at my marriage. I finally woke up one day and realized I was my own worst enemy! Can you relate? I needed to take a step back and look deep inside myself to find that inner strength I knew I had! I felt scared and defeated but knew I had to make some big changes!

I started to reinvent myself, get to know myself and learn to love myself again! It was not easy, but knew I had to figure out how I was going take control of my life!

I started filling my cup with positive self-help books, starting going to Yoga, taking vitamins and darn it stopped feeling sorry for myself! I had to be strong for my two beautiful children, guide them, parent them, show them I can do this for our family. One of the most incredible books I ever read, that made me stop and think over and over again. The Gift of Imperfections by Brene Brown!

She helps you reflect on shame and vulnerability, by guiding you through steps to discover your true character and to accept and love your imperfections.

Quoted from her book.

"We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection.

Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves."

Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are

We all have imperfections, learn to love them, I can't reiterate enough the importance of loving yourself. Once you truly forgive, heal and love yourself, the right person will embrace you wholeheartedly.
